SATURDAY, JULY 18 & SUNDAY, JULY 19: LOCAL FESTIVALS

tm highland water towerSt. Paul: Highland Fest
Highlights: 
Free art activities with ArtStart, a petting zoo, and open houses at the Highland Park Water Tower and at Lock and Dam 1 near Minnehaha Park (5000 West River Parkway, Minneapolis) from 11am-3pm. Staff will be present to discuss how the lock works, and a hands-on lock model will be available for kids to play with during the open house. Visitors will also be invited to visit areas that are normally off limits to include the lock house.

Highlights:
Running July 17-19, the 2nd annual festival includes lumberjack demos, live kids entertainment in Teddy Bear Park, and the traditional parade on Sunday at 1pm. Get the full schedule here.

leprechaun_days_logo[1]Rosemount: Rosemount Leprechaun Days
Highlights:
Runs July 17-26 with free Puppets in the Park and hot dog cookout (Friday), Grand Day Parade and Lightin’ Up Family Block Party with free food, carnival games and more (Saturday), and free open skating and a kiddie parade (Sunday). The lineup continues through next week; get all the details here.

Highlights:
Running July 17-19, Saturday features several free activities for kids including a pedal tractor pull, animal encounters with Carpenter St. Croix Valley Nature Center, radio-controlled airplane demos, and lots of live entertainment. Get the full schedule here.

SUNDAY, JULY 19 ONLY

Target Free Third Sunday
@ Minnesota Children’s Museum
10 7th St W, St Paul, 55102

Time: 9am – 5pm
Ages: All ages attend free!
Details: Explore the museum, including the new exhibit Arthur’s World thanks to the generosity of Target.
