Chanhassen City Center Park 4th of July Celebration

Chanhassen’s full 4th of July Celebration runs Thursday through Saturday at City Center Park. Nightly family fun includes a carnival, kiddie games, face painting & wacky hair and live music.

Coon Rapids 4th of July

Eagan's July 4th Funfest

Eden Prairie 4th of July Hometown Celebration

Eden Prairie’s Hometown Celebration is a two-day Fourth of July celebration, including Sparklefest – a kid-friendly event with games and activities  – on the 3rd, followed by a July 4th celebration featuring live entertainment, vendors, and fireworks at 10pm.

St Louis Park July 4th Fireworks Celebration

St Louis Park celebrates Independence Day with food trucks, vendors, musical entertainment beginning at 7pm and fireworks set to music at 10pm. Rain date is July 9. Admission is free.

Lakeville Pan-o-Prog Festival

This family-friendly summer festival starts out with 4th of July fireworks and continues through the week with family-friendly events such as a family picnic with puppets, music in the park and a kids pedal tractor pull, a carnival, two parades (kiddie & grand), and a family tailgate party. Sweet treat alert: the festival’s free ice cream social is July 9th in 2025. Fireworks – July 4th; additional events – July 5-23, 2026.

Andover Family Fun Fest

Chaska Fire and Ice Festival

Maple Grove Days

Maple Grove Days is the city of Maple Grove’s annual summer festival! The most kid-friendly events during the festival are the corn feed, bed races, games, fireworks show, a PARADE and an outdoor movie.

Excelsior Crazy Days Fair & Festival

Location: Downtown Excelsior, Downtown, Excelsior, MN, 55331

Excelsior Crazy Days is mainly a shopping event – an annual sidewalk sale featuring wares from local businesses, but there are usually a few kid-friendly activities. Heads up that Saturday is Kids Day. 

Sherburne County Fair

Location: Sherburne County Fairgrounds, 18335 Joplin Street NW, Elk River, MN, 55330

The Sherburne County Fair, located in Elk River, is filled with fun and low-cost events to enjoy as a family. It includes classic components such as a carnival, animal barns and judging, Grandstand shows and more. Fair admission is $5 for those ages 6 & up. Carnival rides and wristbands priced separately.

Rosemount Leprechaun Days

So many fun things to do at Rosemount’s annual summer festival, Leprechaun Days: an ice cream social, petting zoo and music in the park, a Blarney Stone Hunt families can get in on, Wet ‘n Wild Day, a penny scramble and more. Most family events run July 18-25, 2026, see link for complete schedule.

Burnsville International Festival

A special International Festival of Burnsville edition of Party on the Plaza that includes live music, food trucks, games, market vendors. Do NOT forget swimsuits for the kids because you’ll hardly be able to hold them back once they see the beautiful water feature in the park.

Loring Park Art Festival

The Loring Park Art Festival features 140 artists, interactive art, family events, food, music and unique entertainment around the walking paths and duck ponds of Loring Park—an idyllic setting for an outdoor art festival. Sat 10am-6pm, Sun 10am-5pm. Admission is free.

Washington County Fair

Date: 07/29/2026 - 08/02/2026 SEE TIMES
Location: Washington County Fairgrounds, 12300 N. 40th Street, Lake Elmo, MN, 55042

Washington County Fair includes exhibits, activities, a parade and carnival.  Wednesday 7am-9pm; Thursday – 7am-10pm; Sunday 7am-8pm. $12/pp ages 8+. Free for ages 7 and under. July 29 – August 2, 2026

July 2025 Festivals we hope to see in 2026

Manitou Days

Date: 06/19/2025 - 07/04/2025 SEE TIMES
Location: White Bear Lake, Downtown, White Bear Lake, MN , 55110

Most of this multi-week festival takes place in June and includes a Grande Parade, beach dance, Marketfest (a weekly farmers market with live music downtown), a medallion hunt and a children’s fishing contest. On the 4th of July is the White Bear Lake Independence Day Boat Parade capped off by fireworks over the lake.

Richfield 4th of July Events (FREE)

Richfield’s 4th of July Celebration is made up of events spanning three days — packed with food vendors, a July 4th parade, family activities, fireworks and a movie night.

Lake Minnetonka 4th of July

It’s a full day of fun celebrating the 4th of July on Lake Minnetonka! Family fun includes morning races, an 11am kids parade and fireworks at dusk. Find the full schedule here:

Langford 4th in the Park

Forest Lake 4th of July

Forest Lake’s Fourth of July celebration traditionally features a carnival & entertainment. On the 4th, the parade starts at 10am and fireworks at 10pm.

Minneapolis Red, White & Boom

Celebrate America’s birthday in Minneapolis! Red, White & Boom is back at the Downtown Minneapolis Riverfront! Dance Party begins at 5:30pm. Come early for a picnic in the park, yoga, pickleball and/or shopping a local makers market. Fireworks at 10pm. 

Afton 4th of July Parade and Celebration

This annual Anoka 4th of July Celebration on Main Street includes food, drinks, music trolley rides and parade at 1pm.

Apple Valley Freedom Days

Apple Valley’s annual Independence Day celebration is free to attend. Family fun at the festival incudes free fishing with Apple Valley police on Tuesday, Cub Foods Family Fun Night on Thursday and the Freedom Days Parade & fireworks on the Fourth of July. 

Stillwater 4th of July Celebration

Date: 07/04/2025 4:00 pm - 11:00 pm

Stillwater’s Independence Day celebration features a huge fireworks display over the St. Croix River, live music and fun around town — ride the historic trolley, grab a sweet in the ice cream shops and visit the riverside park.

Waconia July 4th Fireworks

Waconia’s Fourth of July fireworks display begin at dusk. Consider arriving early for a day at the beach. Pack a picnic and grill out. There is a small playground near the picnic shelter. Carver County has recently eliminated its vehicle fee so this outing is completely free.

Hudson Booster Days & Fireworks

Hudson’s annual 4th of July Celebration at Lakefront Park features a carnival, live music, family activities and Fireworks at dusk on the Sunday following the 4th of July. Families can hit up the parade, live entertainment, magician and fireworks at dusk. Lots to enjoy at our neighbor’s place across the border. Activities throughout the week starting July 3rd.

Taste of Minnesota

Brooklyn Park Summer Splash

Sidewalk chalk and spin art are the big highlights for kids at Anoka’s Riverfest and Craft Fair. And the whole family will enjoy live music and perusing art booths.

Lindstrom Karl Oskar Days

Mound Spirit of the Lakes Festival

Mound’s Spirit of the Lakes Festival features kids activities in the park all weekend – including a free movie on Thursday and more entertainment Friday & Saturday. The Spirit of the Lakes Grand Parade and fireworks are on Saturday in Surfside Park.

Dances at the Lake Festival

The Dances at the Lake Festival has been entertaining families with dance performs from ballet to contemporary at the Lake Harriet Rose Garden for 23 years. Bring a lawn chair or blanket and enjoy a picnic while watching dancers perform on the large grassy area near the Rose Garden.

Minnesota Scottish Fair & Highland Games

The Minnehaha Falls Art Fair is three days of artists, food vendors and community building at beautiful Minnehaha Falls Regional Park. You can expect there to be art activities for kids if you’re bringing them along. If it’s a hot day they will love wading in the pools downstream from the famous falls.

Stillwater Lumberjack Days

Stillwater never misses the mark when it comes to a festival, summer or winter. Find lumberjack shows, a parade, live music, boat cruises and look for Paul Bunyan around town all weekend.

Centerville Fete des Lacs

Hopkins Raspberry Festival

Date: 07/20/2025 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm
Location: City of Hopkins, Multiple Locations, Hopkins, MN, 55305

Hopkins Raspberry Days’ medallion hunt begins Wednesday followed by a kids fishing event and a pie-eating contest. Thursday brings the Sunset Series – Music in the Park. The fun continues in Hopkins this weekend with a Friday free movie night at Maetzold Field; chalk art, a big wheel race, tons of live music and fireworks on Saturday and the Grande Day Parade on Sunday. Anoka County Fair

Date: 07/21/2025 - 07/26/2025 8:00 am - 7:00 pm
Location: Anoka County Fairgrounds, 3200 St Francis Blvd NW, Anoka, MN, 55303

County fair fun! Kids will have a blast at the carnival, coloring contest and fireworks. Access to buildings and barns and kids activities, including the Beach Party, Coloring Mural, Pedal Tractors, open at 10am daily. Carnival rides begin 3pm on Tuesday and noon on the following days. Full event runs July 21-26, 2025. Adults $15; Kids $10; carnival rides extra. July 22 Kids Day $27/admission includes unlimited rides.

Wabasha Riverboat Days

Wabasha Riverboat Days is two days of fun festivities, including food trucks at Heritage Park all weekend, a scavenger hunt for hidden treasures during the kick-off party, FREE concerts both Friday and Saturday evenings, pickleball, fishing, an open air market, a 5K road race and more.

Pollinator Party (FREE)

Elk RiverFest

Chaska River City Days

Scott County Fair

Plenty of highlights for kids at this county fair serving the Twin Cities Southwest Metro: A carnival, animal shows, baby animals, and entertainment. Full event runs July 23-27, 2025. $15/parking, no admission fee.

WE Chalk Festival

WE Chalk Festival is a two-day celebration featuring one-of-a-kind works created by 15-20 local and national chalk artists, including 2D and 3D chalk masters. Family fun includes a Kids’ Chalking Zone, a public chalk mandala, live entertainment and DJs, food trucks  and vendors.

Slice of Shoreview

Northwest Food Truck Fest

Make plans to eat, drink, and socialize at Mississippi Crossings. The NW Food Truck Fest is a chance to experience a variety of food and drinks while supporting local.
