Lake Josephine County Park has family friendly amenities that include a playground, a guarded beach, picnic areas, a boat launch, and fishing areas. The playground equipment is large, but standard. The playground floor is mulch. The picnic areas are not sheltered, but they are shaded. Ramsey County beach season runs from Memorial Day to Labor Day. This beach has been unguarded for the past several years. The sandy area of this beach is rather small. However, there are some shady spaces where blankets where families could camp out close to the sand. There are also strategic spots where a parent could watch both the beach and the playground. However, they are not allowed on the beach or in the picnic areas and cannot be left unattended. It would be best to leave them home if you plan to spend the day at the beach and/or picnicking.
