Twin Cities June Family Festival Calendar

Get your fill of June family festival outings with this handy list of local celebrations around the Twin Cites. Most are free. If there is admission, it is listed. Family-friendly highlights are listed for each:


June 4-7, 2020: Spring Lake Park Tower Days | Spring Lake Park
Festival at Lakeside Lions Park (Sunday 10am-dusk) features interactive lumberjack shows and other kids activities. Catch an outdoor movie in Lions Park.

June 4-7, 2020: Hugo Good Neighbor Days | Hugo
Parade and fireworks.

June 5-7, 2020: Edina Art Fair | 50th & France
Live music and a Kids Zone filled with art activities, inflatables and a shady place to rest

June 6, 2020: Art in the Hollow | Swede Hollow, St Paul
Over 50 visual & performing artists, many creating works on site. 10am-5pm.

June 6, 2020: Arts in the Park | Purgatory Creek Park, Eden Prairie
Local craft vendors plus music and entertainment just for kids. FREE admission. 10am-5pm

June 6, 2020: Saint Anthony Park Arts Festival | Como and Carter Avenues, St Paul  Boy Scout Troops will have fun activities for kids. Go for a climb on a tower and if the weather is good, take a pinewood derby car for a spin.

June 6-7, 2020: Discover Aviation DaysAnoka County Airport, Blaine

June 6-7, 2020: Union Depot’s Train Day | Union Depot, St Paul
Train-inspired activities including tours of locomotives, model railroads, and family activities.

June 7, 2020: Grand Old Day | Grand Ave, St Paul
Kids activities in the Family Fun District (most have a fee), live music and parade.

June 7, 2020: Rhubarb Fest | New Brighton History Center Museum
Rhubarb will be available for purchase. Explore the train exhibits. 1-4pm.

June 10-14, 2020: Albertville Friendly City Days | Albertville
Carnival runs Thu-Sun; Saturday Events for Kids including fire truck display, Kiddie Parade, Kids Pedal Tractor Pull, and Toddler Town.

June 13-14, 2020: Art on the Lake | Excelsior
Get creative in the Kids Art Tent. Listen to local music and try out regional food vendors.

June 13-14, 2020: Chalkfest at Arbor Lakes | Maple Grove
Chalkfest Family Zone is set aside for families to create together, plus games, music and food. 

June 13-14, 2020: Deutsche Tage | St Paul
A sampling of German food (not free), culture and games.

June 14-15, 2020: Tater Daze Festival | Brooklyn Park
Parade (Thur), live music and fireworks.

June 14-21, 2020: Buffalo Days | Buffalo
Wed-Sun: Carnival, Thu: Kiddie Parade (6:30). Fri: Fireworks (dusk); Sat: Grand Parade (6pm).

June 17-20, 2020: Faribault Heritage Celebration | Faribault
Carnival, live music, coloring contest and kids fun run.

June 17-21, 2020: St. Louis Park Parktacular | St Louis Park
Grand Day Parade and Kidtacular Family & Kids Activities are free or low cost.

June 18, 2020: Fridley ’49er Day | Commons Park, Fridley
There will be a parade and festival.

June 18-21, 2020: Cottage Grove Strawberry Fest | Kingston Park, Cottage Grove
Free kids tractor pedal pull, free petting farm, self-guided StoryWalk through the festival, and Water Wars water balloon station (small fee).

June 18-July 4, 2020: Manitou Days | White Bear Lake
“50 Years of Fun in the Sun” plus a parade.

June 18-July 30, 2020: Marketfest | Downtown White Bear Lake
Thursdays from 6pm-9pm. Vendors, food, activities and petting zoo.

June 20, 2020: Midsommar Celebration | American Swedish Institute, Minneapolis Showcases Swedish music, dancing, and food. $10 adult, $7 ages 62+, $5 ages 6-18 and students with ID.

June 20-21, 2020: Stone Arch Bridge Festival | Minneapolis
A weekend of art and music on the Minneapolis River Front. Family activities area.

June 23-27, 2020: Farmington Dew Days | Farmington
Kids fishing contest, parade.

June 24-29 & July 4, 2020: Rosefest | Roseville
Free family skate at Roseville Skate Center; Community Theatre, Great American Campout and campfire; Touch a Truck and children’s concert & parade.

June 25-27, 2020: Twin Cities Jazz Festival | St. Paul
Hosted at various venues, look for free family-friendly concerts at several parks, including Mears and Rice. Download free Metro Transit passes at link above.

June 25-27, 2020: Earle Brown Days Festival | Brooklyn Center
Centennial Park offers entertainment, food trucks, youth activities, community market, fireworks and more. Plus a parade.

June 25-28, 2020: Oakdale Summerfest | Walton Park, Oakdale
Parade, live music, fireworks, carnival rides, kids events and more.

June 25-28, 2020: Columbia Heights Lions Jamboree | Huset Park
Jamboree and carnival.

June 26-28, 2020: Kaposia Days | South St. Paul
Parade, “Cute Kid Contest” & fireworks.

June 26-28, 2020: Blaine Festival | Aquatore Park
Family beach party, carnival, petting zoo, dance party.

June 27, 2020: Minnetonka Summer Festival | Civic Center Campus
Inflatables, petting zoo, family music, and fireworks. All activities are free except food! 4pm-10:45pm.

June 27, 2020: Midsommar Dag | Gammelgarden Museum, Scandia
Traditional Swedish music and dances celebrate the long days of summer! Building Tours are FREE. Smorgasboard available $20/pp. Children’s Dala Lunch $5.

June 27-28, 2020: Afton Strawberry Festival
Kids Spin Art, live music, raptor demos & strawberry shortcake eating contest.

June 27-28, 2020: Eagan Art Festival | Children’s Activity Tent

June 28, 2020: Uptown Food Truck Festival | Lake & Hennepin, Minneapolis

June 29-July 4, 2020: Apple Valley Freedom Days
Carnival, Music in the Park, Family Fun Night. 

Cancelled for 2020: Northern Spark | Green Line (Mpls – St. Paul)
This overnight festival of art is probably best to share with the older kids. 9pm-2am. (June 14-15, 2019)(Look for it in 2021)

June 1-8, 2019: I Love Burnsville Week
Friday Fest & Flicks on the Bricks, demonstrations, ice cream social and family activities. 

June 2, 2019: Open Streets Lyndale | Minneapolis
Pedal or walk your way along Lyndale Avenue, exploring local businesses. 11am-5pm.

June 9, 2019: Minnesota Festival of Jazz on the Prairie | Staring Lake Park, Eden Prairie Showcase for six of the best local Jazz Groups in the Twin Cities. 2-8pm.

June 23, 2019: Scandinavian Summer Fest | Minnehaha Park, Minneapolis
Music, dancing and crafts.
