Members of the very family-friendly Jack Brass Band  parade through the zoo grounds and families are invited to join in. Just one reason among a dozen to spend a day at the zoo – just remember to make an advance reservation. June 13, 2022, 10am-1pm. FREE.

Monday morning kids concert series

Monday Night Concert Series at Centennial Lakes Park

While in the park, enjoy the lawn games, paddleboats, ponds and trails along the canals. The concert is at the Maetzold Amphitheater at the south end of the park. June 13, 7pm, FREE.

Minneapolis Music in the Park at Lake Harriet

Lake Harriet Park, 4135 W Lake Harriet Parkway, Minneapolis MN 55409
Concerts take place at the pretty bandshell; kids can have the run of the nearby playground. Bring your own picnic dinner or purchase one from Bread & Pickle. June 13, 7:30pm.

Springbrook Summer Concert Series

Springbrook Nature Center, 100 85th Ave NW, Fridley, MN, 55432
An acoustic concert will be performed at the amphitheater. If kids are old enough to explore (relatively) on their own, they’ll love the sandy nature playground at Springbrook outdoors, and indoors are fun hands-on exhibits. June 14, 2022, 7pm. FREE.

Eidem Farm: Stories from the Porch

Gather around the farmhouse for children’s storytime (bring your own seating) then participate in open play in the farmyard. Eidem Farm is a wonderful place to slow down and meet animals and take self-guided walks in the summer. June 14, 2022. 11am & 6pm.

The movie School of Rock will be screened. Bring a blanket or lawn chairs, snacks and some bug spray. If you’re able consider taking the light rail into downtown; the park is about a block away from the station and my kids think the train ride is part of the fun. June 15, 2022, 8-10pm. FREE.

Bloomington: SUMMER MOVIES ON THE HILL

Bring blankets or chairs for the grassy amphitheater. Food & happy hour sales begin at 4pm, the movie at dusk. June 15th screens Encanto.

The beloved (at least by my family) preschool program is finally back offering weekly themed activities to the 4-and-under set. Think sand tables, sponge painting, worm digs and storytimes. Remember, a reservation to visit the Zoo is free, but required. June 16, 2022, 10am-12pm.
