Hidden below the rumbling of the trucks on Shepard Road in St Paul, Crosby Farm Regional Park is a peaceful retreat along the bank of the Mississippi River. The park has family-friendly amenities that include grills, a fire pit and space for for picnicking, trails for biking or hiking, and areas for fishing. There is a large picnic shelter and restrooms. The park offers almost 7 miles of paved trails through shady, wooded bottom lands next to the and along the marshes of Crosby Lake. There are scenic picnic areas available for rest stops.

Crosby Farm Regional Park, St. Paul

Note that there are two entrances to Crosby Farm Park. At the north end, if arriving by car, there is only a parking lot turn-around for those who want to hike along Crosby Lake. The south entrance allows you to drive all the way down into the river bottoms to the parking lot at the shelter. This is the preferred entrance if you want to hike the easy trails with kids and get close to the river.

Watch for Goats at Crosby Farm Regional Park

Beginning in 2017, St. Paul Natural Resources began rotating goats among local parks to help control invasive buckthorn. The goats have returned for 2018, starting with Crosby. Other parks in the goat rotation include Indian Mounds Park, and Hidden Falls Regional Park. You can track the goats at the Great River Passage Website.

ExploraTots Program

Crosby Farm Regional Park, St. Paul

This park has hosted ExploraTots Programs in the summer months. This program, aimed at preschool children and their parents, introduces children to their environment through outdoor play and themed activities. St. Paul Natural Resources is also in the process of starting a Family Nature Club program with meetings at local parks.

Birthday Parties at Crosby Farm Regional Park

The Crosby Shelter at Gannon Road and Crosby Farm Road can be reserved for private events like birthday parties. It seats approximately 50 people and includes a fire pit, barbecue grill, electricity and restrooms.  Rental rates can be found here.


Crosby Regional Park Master Plan

St. Paul Parks & Rec is currently developing the master plan for Crosby Farm Regional Park. This plan will guide park improvements, natural resources management, and make recommendations for changes within or adjacent to the park. Find up-to-date information here.
