Just what you need to help you decide what to do during Winter Break!


These are well worth the effort to leave the house.

There are so many options around the Twin Cities that you won’t be able to hit them all during break. But take your pick!  These are a great option.

  • Roller Garden–St. Louis ParK
    You will want to check this link out.  They have so much planned for Winter Break including a Wheel of Fortune party, Glow Day, Candy Cane Day, Star Wars Day, Balloon Day, and more.
  • Skateville–Burnsville
    Special hours during winter break.
    $7/person +rental
  • Saints North–Maplewood
    Open for some extra fun during winter break

If the weather starts looking more like winter than whatever is happening right now, you can take advantages of these different outdoor ideas.

Go Snow Tubing

Tubing offered December 24 10 am-4 pm, December 26-30 10 am-8 pm, December 31 10 am-4 pm, January 1-3 10 am-8 pm
Price is $4/person
No tow ropes at this facility
Bringing your own sliding crafts are not permitted.

At this location, a hill for small children is not provided.  They do not recommend children under 42 inches use their tubing hills.
Tickets are $17/2 hours, $3 for every additional hour

Prices:  Adults and Teenagers (13 years & older) – $16.00 per person
Children (12 and under) – $13.00 per person
Children (under 42 inches tall) – $5.00 per child (Must ride with parent or guardian)

List of available sledding hills in St. Paul

  • Wild Chutes–Taylor Falls
    Located at Wild Mountain in Taylors Falls.  As for right now, there is no opening snow date due to the uncooperative weather.

Tubing offered December 20-January 4
Two hour increments Between 10:00 a.m.-9:00 p.m.
Open until 3:00 on December 24, Closed December 25
Open until 10:00 p.m. on December 31

Tubing offered December 22-January 2
Two hour incrememnts between 9:00 a.m.-9:30 p.m. (to 10:00 p.m. some evenings)
Day Session $17, Night Session $15, Late Night Special  (1 hour before close) $10
Special Hours and Rates on December 24, 25, and 31.

Tubing offered December 22-January 4
Three hour increments between 11:00 a.m.-7:00 p.m. (or longer)
Open December 24  11:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m., Closed December 25
Open December 31 11:00 a.m.-10:00 p.m.
Prices- 13 years & older $15, 4 – 12 years & under $12, 3 years & under FREE
4 hours of tubing $21

Tubing offered during Winter Break (Opening December 20)
Three hour increments between 10:00 a.m.-8:00 p.m.
I am unsure about Christmas Eve, Christmas, and New Year’s Eve

Free Sledding Hills Nearby Thomas Wirth Winter Recreation Area:  Sunset Hill and Columbia Golf Club (You can rent a tube at Columbia for $5 if needed or bring your own sled for free)

Go for a Zipline Tour

By appointment only, but I can only imagine how cool this would be!
