Here are some things you might not want to miss this week.  Most are free but see details where noted. St. Paul is a busy place this month.

Wednesday, July 9
12 pm; Musser Cortile,  Free Landmark Center popular music series, Music in the Café, kicks off with the return of Café Accordion Orchestra. “Berets and Bongos” describes the Café Accordion experience as a loungy, eclectic mix, full of French flare, Latin heat and Bohemian attitude. Their music is injected with good humor and expressive abandon and their high level of musicianship and passion for performance makes them an entertaining concert act as well as a great dance band. Larry Englund, from KFAI’s Rhythm and Grooves show will be on hand to host the concert.
Thursday, July 10
6 pm; Rice Park,  Free Ordway’s Summer Dance Series is a weekly social dance event offering free dancing and live music in Rice Park on Thursday evenings during the summer. This evening’s focus will be Disco with dance lessons by Arthur Murray and live music by Boogie Wonderland.

  • […] I haven’t been into any department stores recently, but I suspect Back-To-School supplies started going up this week. Can you feel the summer ticking away? I can. Not to worry. There are plenty of fun things left to do this week. If none of my picks interest you, check our Calendars. Gianna wrote an overview of July here. I’ve suggested 31 Dates in July that you can do with or without the kids. Most of these are free or very cheap. There are also July Festivals; Anne’s Budget Outings; and all the things that we didn’t get around to writing about but Gianna  pasted into this week’s Inbox article. […]
