Woodbury summer park events 

• WOODBURY PUPPET WAGON – Traveling around more than 20 Woodbury parks with fun, free puppet shows. See link for schedule. Ongoing Mon-Thurs, mid-June to mid-August.

• STARLIGHT CINEMA OUTDOOR SERIES: The free outdoor movie series is hosted at OJIBWAY PARK. There are typically 4 movie nights scheduled during the summer with pre-show activities starting at 7pm.

Carver Lake Park Beach

Carver Lake Park offers a family-friendly swimming beach along with a volleyball court, a picnic area, an accessible playground, and a 5 1/2 mile bike trail (hilly in many spots). This park traditionally hosts a family campout in July.

A splash pad and MADISON’S PLACE PLAYGROUND combine to create one of the most popular playgrounds in the metro. Madison’s Place is an all-inclusive playground with sun-shaded play decks, swings, sensory play equipment and ramps for wheelchair access.

Spring registration for summer camps

Yes, it’s about that time to start planning summer camp opportunities for your kids! As many camps open registration as early as February (and many fill almost as quickly), we strive to publish our GUIDE TO TWIN CITIES SUMMER CAMPS accordingly. We work closely with local businesses and camps to provide a wide variety of activities and concentrations. Some camps we are proud to highlight in Woodbury, Minnesota, include:

Camp Carver

Campers enjoy swimming and water fun, kayaking, team games, archery, nature exploration, fishing, and arts and crafts. Full day camps for kids ages 6-12. Sessions start in early June, please see link for this year’s dates and pricing.

Merrill Arts Center

One or two-week camps rehearse a shortened version of a play or musical and present shows for invited guests complete with costumes, props, and set pieces. Campers learn theater vocabulary, teamwork, self-reliance, and build confidence by achieving a challenging goal. 

Winter in Woodbury: sledding hills, snow tubing, and ice skating rinks 

Outdoor ice skating rinks in Woodbury 

The city of Woodbury maintains free public outdoor ice skating rinks at five parks including COLBY LAKE PARK, KARGEL PARK, OJIBWAY PARK, SHAWNEE PARK and a refrigerated outdoor ice rink at HEALTHEAST SPORTS CENTER. The refrigerated rink is for pleasure skating only, no hockey sticks or pucks allowed. Weather permitting, it opens early December. Learn more about Woodbury’s outdoor ice skating rinks here. The best sledding hills in Woodbury

EAGLE VALLEY GOLF COURSE: The golf course’s 225 acres are used for sledding, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing in the winter. 2695 Ojibway Drive, Woodbury.
