Here we have gathered special family Halloween activities organized by regions of the Twin Cities metro area. All of these events require a fee and some require registration.

    Frankenstein’s Laboratory Exhibit

    Ongoing – Permanent Exhibit

    Location: Bakken Museum, 3537 Zenith Ave S, Minneapolis, MN 55416
    Yes, this is a permanent exhibit that you can visit any time, but what better time than during the month of October? General admission: $10-$14/pp. Tues-Saturday, 10am-4pm.

    Autumn & Halloween Crafting 

    Ongoing – Seasonal Menu

    Location: Heartfelt Crafts, 4306 Upton Ave S, Minneapolis, MN 55410
    Heartfelt’s Autumn Craft selections include Halloween crafts. Prices vary by craft. Calling ahead to reserve space is recommended, walk-in space may be available.

    Farmer Ken & Jan's Pumpkin Patch 

    Date: 10/05/2025 12:30 pm - 4:00 pm
    Location: Minnesota Streetcar Museum - Como Harriet Streetcar Line, 2330 W 42nd Street, Minneapolis, MN, 55410

    Take a ride on the historic Como-Harriet Streetcar Line to the pumpkin patch. Pumpkins are $7 apiece while supplies last. 12:30-4pm. $3/ride pp or $7/all day, under 3 free, pumpkins $7/each.

    Transylvania Trolley

    Date: 10/11/2025 12:30 pm - 4:00 pm
    Location: Minnesota Streetcar Museum - Como Harriet Streetcar Line, 2330 W 42nd Street, Minneapolis, MN, 55410

    The historic Como-Harriet Streetcar Line transforms into the “Transylvania Trolley” one night only during Halloween season. It’s a non-scary ride, but be warned, Count Karl the Vampire Motorman will be your conductor! Wear your costume and grab a treat. 12:30-4pm. $3/ride or $7/all day, under 3 ride free.

    Family Pumpkin Carving Night

    Date: 10/16/2025 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm
    Location: Bryant Square Park, 3101 Bryant Ave S, Minneapolis, MN, 55408

    Families can register for pumpkin carving at Bryant Square. This is an outdoor event, so dress for the weather. Best for families with kids ages 6+.  $20/Minneapolis residents. $30 for non residents.

    Pumpkins & Giggles

    Location: 40th Street Park, 1900 E 40th Street, Minneapolis, MN, 55407

    40th Street Park hosts a “hilariously messy-free family carving extravaganza that promises laughter, fun, and zero hassle cleanup.” Pre-registration required. Resident $20.00/non-resident $30.00.

    Our Lady of Peace Party at the Patch

    Our Lady of Peace’s annual Party at the Patch is an annual autumn event with tons of family fun including a petting zoo, live kids music, and autumn activities.     The Rock and Roll Playhouse Halloween Spectacular for Kids

    The Rock and Roll  Playhouse is a traveling tribute show with stops at First Avenue in Minneapolis. This October dress up in your favorite cosutme and celebrate the spooky season with Halloween Spectacular for Kids.

    Trick 'r Trolley

    Central Gym Halloween Trick or Treat Bonfire

    Date: 10/30/2025 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
    Location: Central Gym, 3416 S 4th Avenue, Minneapolis, MN, 55408

    Stop by to warm up by the bonfire at Central Gym Park and collect free candy and treats. All ages are welcome to drop in. $5-$7.50/pp. 

    Drop-In Pumpkin Carving

    Date: 10/30/2025 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm
    Location: Brackett Field Park, 2728 S 39th Ave, Minneapolis, MN, 55406

    Need a last-ditch opportunity to decorate pumpkins? Drop in to Brackett Field Park to decorate a pumpkin and get your face painted. Maybe you can make it last until tomorrow? (Make sure you grab an old pillow case if you are going to try). $10/participant. Ages 3-14 (parents must accompany kids 6 and under).

    All Aboard Halloween Hangout

    Bare Bones Halloween Extravaganza

    The annual Halloween puppet extravaganza is back to its traditional glory. Dress warm and bring your own seating. October 30 – November 2, 2025. Cost is a pay-what-you-can model with $20/pp recommended donation.
