The pool water is naturally treated with plants instead of chemicals. Plus zero-depth entry for the littlest swimmers. Opens June 13, 2026, 1-7pm. FREE admission.
Jim Lupient Waterpark

Free Minneapolis wading pools
Wading pools NOT attached to a public school are now open. Many of them are no-frills with a standard depth of about 18″ but several have been updated with fun spray features and zero-depth entry. All are located adjacent to a playground, rest rooms and space to spread out with a picnic. And all are FREE! Find our complete list at the link. Tot Times at Como Regional Park Pool
Special swim hours for the youngest are offered at COMO REGIONAL PARK POOL. The shallow activity pool will be open with its gentle slides, water play station, sprinklers and zero-depth entry. Perfect for little splashers! (Saturday and Sunday, 9-10:30am, $6/pp both child and adult).

Not that any old day isn’t a good one to get outdoors, here’s a special perk on National Get Outdoors Day: Regularly $7 per vehicle, admission is FREE to Minnesota State Parks & Recreation Areas to encourage families to get out and explore. We’re lucky here in the Twin Cities to have 8 Minnesota State Parks within 60 miles of the heart of the Metro and many an easy day trip’s away.

MINNEAPOLIS Drop-In Nature: Woodland ExplorationÂ

This month, head out on your own to explore the park with the help of tools you can check out from the nature center: adventure kits, scavenger hunt ideas and more. There’s lots more to do at the park at your own pace: a playground, splashy wading pool, bike paths, picnic space and the Kroening Interpretive Center is definitely worth a look. MINNEAPOLIS Rock the Cradle

This month’s “Family Day” at MIA is a full-on festival of music and art for kids (best for ages 2-10) and their caregivers. As always, the festival is presented by The Current and is filled with local performers and free activities. June 14, 2026, 10am-5pm. FREE.

MINNEAPOLIS Classical Actors Ensembles: The Tempest
The family-friendly Shakespeare performance is presented twice this weekend at Minneapolis parks from 7-9pm. SATURDAY, JUNE 13 at Lake of the Isles Park and SUNDAY, JUNE 14 at Matthews Park. Performances are free and family-friendly.
MINNEAPOLIS Music In the Park
