Plan ahead for your family festival outings with this handy list of local celebrations around the Twin Cities Northwest Metro. Most are admission-free. Champlin Father Hennepin Festival

Date: 06/08/2026 - 06/14/2026
Location: Father Hennepin Days, Champlin, MN

So much to look forward to: a Friday night parade, and fireworks. Saturday & Sunday ice cream socials and lots of outdoor music including a kids concert. Plus, a classic carnival all weekend long in Champlin. See link for full schedule.

Albertville Friendly City Days

Location: Albertville Central Park, 5801 Main Ave NE, Albertville, MN , 55301

The summer festival’s classic carnival starts Wednesday and runs through the weekend. Live music starts Thursday evening and the Friday night fireworks are at 10pm. The festival continues over the weekend with the Grande Day Parade on Sunday, 12:30pm. The carnival and live music also run through the weekend. See link below for complete details.

Monticello Heritage Day

 Monticello Heritage Day is the city’s special celebration of its roots and traditions. Expect live entertainment for all ages throughout the day in West Bridge Park plus concessions and a beer garden with the Monticello Lions Club. (see link for full details)

Delano Sculpture & Blues Fest

Location: Delano Sculpture Park, Hwy 12, Delano, MN

Celebrating both the city’s 150th anniversary and the addition of 11 new sculptures to the Delano Sculpture Park. Blues artists to perform three sets throughout the day (see schedule), an art vendor market to shop and food and beverage trucks.

Hennepin County Fair

Location: Corcoran Lions Park, 7205 County Road 101, Corcoran, MN, 55340

Plenty of free and low-cost fun to be had at the Hennepin County Fair! Highlights include a public vehicle display, live children’s entertainment, crafts and activities with area 4-H and FFA clubs, bounce houses and more. Fair is open 10am-11pm offering free admission and free parking.

Maple Grove Chalkfest

Location: Downtown Maple Grove, Elm Creek Blvd & Arbor Lakes Pkwy, Maple Grove, MN , 55369

Fantastic street chalk art with the typical food concessions and live entertainment. A free Kids Zone allows young ones can try chalk art, too. Admission is free.

Buffalo Days

Date: 06/14/2026 - 06/21/2026
Location: Sturges Park, 505 2nd Ave S, Buffalo, MN , 55313

The carnival kicks off Thursday, plus there’s a kiddie parade and free movie in the park that evening. Friday follows with a DJ and fireworks in Sturges Park and Saturday wraps up the big events with a grand parade through downtown at 6pm.

Rockin' Rogers

Ham Lake Freedom Festival

At the Ham Lake Freedom Festival families can participate in kids’ activities, grab a free pulled pork sandwich, listen to live bands, explore a police and fire truck display, and watch fireworks at 10pm.

Delano 4th of July Festival

Coon Rapids 4th of July

Maple Grove Days

Maple Grove Days is the city of Maple Grove’s annual summer festival! The most kid-friendly events during the festival take place in Central Park plus bed races, games, a fireworks show and the Maple Grove Days Parade.

Sherburne County Fair

The Sherburne County Fair, located in Elk River, is filled with fun and low-cost events to enjoy as a family. It includes classic components such as a carnival, animal barns and judging, Grandstand shows and more. Fair admission is $5 for those ages 6 & up. Carnival rides and wristbands priced separately.

Two Rivers Art Fair: Drawn Together

Two Rivers Art Fair — Rumriver Art Center’s annual art fair — combines art, music and fun in the park for a beautiful summer day out with the family. FREE. Drop In. All Ages.

Anoka County Fair

County fair fun! Kids will have a blast at the carnival, meeting farm animals and taking in the free entertainment. With the exception of opening day, access to buildings and barns and kids activities starts at 11am. Adults/$15, children 6-12/$10. Parking is free.

Crystal Frolics

Crystal Frolics is the city’s annual summer festival and it’s a big hit with families! We provide a full schedule of family activities; highlights include Saturday’s free family festival in the park with inflatables, llamas to visit, games, food trucks and more. Fireworks at Welcome Park cap off the festival. 

Elk RiverFest

Hanover Harvest Festival

Hanover’s Harvest Festival celebrates the turning of the season with tons of old-fashioned kids carnival games (for a small fee), a mobile video game truck, vintage tractor shows, petting zoo, garden tractor pull, fireworks and lots more.

The Colors of Southeast Asia (COSA) Fest’s is a family-friendly experience featuring Southeast Asian community leaders, artists, and entrepreneurs sharing their stories of beauty and strength of their community through food, presentations, and performances. Admission is free.
