Edina Art Fair

The 50th & France shopping district bustles with over 250 artists and crafters to shop and a Kids Zone with hands-on artmaking, face painting, music and games. Admission is free.

Eden Prairie Jazz on the Prairie & Rib Fest

Kick off Staring Lake Park’s summer concerts with the annual afternoon of big-band jazz. Pack a picnic or purchase ribs, pulled chicken, hot dogs and beverages from the Rotary’s Rib Fest booth. Admission is free.

DODs Days Family Festival

Dads of Down Syndrome (DODs) outdoor music festival will feature an energetic lineup of live bands and DJs, family-friendly activities, food trucks, and a beer garden with beverages provided by NOLO’s Kitchen, all in support of the organization’s mission to build community and empower fathers raising children with Down syndrome and differing abilities. Admission to DODs Days is free, but pre-registration is requested.

Excelsior Art On the Lake

Excelsior’s Art On the Lake is two days of fine art, family-friendly entertainment, kids activities, local musicians and regional food vendors. Opening at 10am each day. Admission is free.

St Louis Park Parktacular

St Louis Park’s biggest summer event is packed with activities like the Grand Day Parade, Kidtacular and Ecotacular events in Wolfe Park, a mini art hunt and a Splash Into Summer pool event at the Rec Center Aquatic Park. Admission to most events is free; purchase a Parktacular button for other activities.

The Great Midwest Rib Fest

The Great Midwest Rib Fest is a weekend of food and free music. FREE. All Ages.  Thursday June 25th through Saturday, June 27, 2026.

Wayzata Art Experience

If you’re bringing kids along to shop the dozens of high quality art vendors, here’s what you need to know: young ones will love the Activity Zone, a creative space on Lake Street stocked with activities like crafts and chalk art for kids. They also might enjoy a (FREE!) boat ride on Lake Minnetonka or watching the Boat Light Parade on Saturday night. Of course, there will be great food, too.

Savage Dan Patch Days

Savage’s annual summer festival, Dan Patch Days, is named for the famous racehorse who smashed records in the early twentieth century (at the Minnesota State Fair, no less!) You won’t find horse racing these days in Savage, but you can expect a full lineup of classic festival activities. See link for full festival events.

Minnetonka Summer Fest

A whole day of free family fun in Minnetonka: Inflatables, live music, food trucks and fireworks. All activities are free except food!

Chanhassen 4th of July Celebration

Chanhassen celebrates with a full-length parade & kiddie parade, family night with carnival games and rides, kiddie games, live music, llama petting, lawn games, a food truck festival and more taking place in and around City Center Park. Note: Fireworks at Lake Ann Park on July 4th. 

Eden Prairie 4th of July Hometown Celebration

Eden Prairie’s Hometown Celebration is a two-day Fourth of July celebration, including Sparklefest – a kid-friendly event with games and activities  – on the 3rd, followed by a July 4th celebration featuring live entertainment, vendors, and fireworks at 10pm.

Bloomington Summer Fete

Bloomington Summer Fete is the city’s Independence Day event. Fun for families with kids: the Family Fun Zone usually includes activity booths, face painting, balloon animals, bounce houses, slides and more. Live music entertains on the 84th Street Kids Stage. The festival is capped off with fireworks at dusk.

Waconia Fireworks Display

Waconia’s Fourth of July fireworks display moves to Sovereign Estate in 2026.  Fireworks begin at dusk but activities begin at 5pm. Admission $25 ages 12+; under 12 FREE.

St Louis Park July 4th Fireworks Celebration

St Louis Park celebrates Independence Day with food trucks, vendors, musical entertainment beginning at 7pm and fireworks set to music at 10pm. Rain date is July 9.

Richfield 4th of July Events

Richfield’s 4th of July Celebration includes a wreath laying ceremony, parade and kiddie parade, ending the evening with fireworks. Make a day of it and enjoy all the amenities of Veterans Park.

Rock & Rockets Concert and Fireworks

Chaska Fire and Ice Festival

Chaska’s Fire & Ice Festival is packed with live music, kids activities in the park and fireworks. CHASKA FIREMEN’S PARK boasts one of the loveliest beaches in the Twin Cities, complete with a curving boardwalk, splash pad, playground, paddle boats and concessions. Hopkins Raspberry Festival

Hopkins Raspberry Days’ medallion hunt begins Wednesday followed by a kids fishing event and a pie-eating contest. Thursday brings the Sunset Series – Music in the Park. The fun continues in Hopkins this weekend with a Friday free movie night at Maetzold Field; chalk art, a big wheel race, tons of live music and fireworks on Saturday and the Grande Day Parade on Sunday. See our full schedule.

Mound Spirit of the Lakes Festival

Mound’s Spirit of the Lakes Festival features kids activities in the park all weekend – including a free movie on Thursday and more entertainment Friday & Saturday. The Spirit of the Lakes Grand Parade and fireworks are on Saturday in Surfside Park.

Scott County Fair

Plenty of highlights for kids at this county fair serving the Twin Cities Southwest Metro: A carnival, animal shows, baby animals, and entertainment. $15/parking, no admission fee.

Chaska River City Days

Chaska’s River City Days summer festival is held annually at the end of July. There’s family fun involved for all ages including a parade, a kids zone with plenty of activities and live music each night. See our schedule for all the details.

WE Chalk Festival

WE Chalk Festival is a two-day celebration featuring one-of-a-kind works created by 15-20 local and national chalk artists, including 2D and 3D chalk masters. Family fun includes a Kids’ Chalking Zone, a public chalk mandala, live entertainment and DJs, food trucks and vendors.

Eden Prairie PeopleFest!

Slavic Experience (FREE)

Prior Lake Days

Friday night of Prior Lake’s summer festival is an adults-only business expo and wine tasting so we focus on the Saturday family activities: a kiddie parade, fun activities like a balloonist, face painter, alpacas, inflatables, robotics demos, bingo and more.

Eagan Food Truck Festival

Minnesota Renaissance Festival

The Minnesota Renaissance Festival is a unique immersive experience that takes you back, back in time to the days of lords and ladies, knights, jousts and a touch of wizardry and magic. Stiftungsfest

Festival includes a free family night with carnival games and outdoor movie and live music all four nights. Proceeds benefit the fire department. Gate Admission $3-6/ages 13-79; Free 0-12 & 80+. FREE Gate admission on Thursday evening.
