Goats Come to Civic Center Park

Following the successful goat program in Saint Paul, Burnsville approved a pilot program to bring goats into a two-acre area near the Ice Center to help control buckthorn in 2018 for a three-year prescribed grazing pilot project. Goats are great at controlling buckthorn and other woody species that take over natural areas. For more information and photos visit Burnsville’s website.

Birthday Parties at Civic Center Park

Although it doesn’t offer a shelter, the picnic area at Bicentennial Garden can be rented for an affordable hourly rate. With a short walk across the park to the Burnsville Skate Park, this could be a budget-friendly option for a birthday party for an older grade school or middle school child.
