Goats Come to Civic Center Park

Following the successful goat program in Saint Paul, Burnsville approved a pilot program to bring goats into a two-acre area near the Ice Center to help control buckthorn in 2018 for a three-year prescribed grazing ilot project. Goats are great at controlling buckthorn and other woody species that take over natural areas. Although it doesn't offer a shelter, the picnic area at Bicentennial Garden can be rented for an affordable $23-$28/hour. With a short walk across the park to the Burnsville Skate Park, this could be a budget-friendly option for a birthday party for an older child.
