This month’s Read Aloud Wednesday is in honor of Thanksgiving. Knowing that many of you will have green beans on your table, your family will appreciate this book.
“Eat your beans like Martha!”
“Remember what happened when Martha didn’t eat her beans!”
This book was written by Tori’s favorite author of all time–David LaRochelle. I can’t blame her for loving his work. He’s an incredible author and person, for that matter.
Adding Voices to Your Storytelling
Okay, everyone! It’s time to try your hand at two different voices.
I absolutely, positively KNOW you can do this.
All you need to do is pick two different voices. They can be a high voice and a low voice. A voice that speaks really quickly and one that is really slow. A voice that sounds like you are pinching your nose or a voice with a lisp. Combine anything and give two characters personality. You don’t need to give personality to all of them. Just pick two.
If it were me, I would choose Martha and the Green Beans. Give all the Green Beans the same voice. Since they are a band of rascals, I wouldn’t worry about them having different voices.
However, if you want to skip voices for the beans all together and just give her parents voices, go for it. This is your baby! I know you can do it.
How YOUR Kids can save YOU from Green Beans
If this book makes you hungry and you want to venture into the kitchen with you kids, you may be interested in taking a family cooking class.
