The Highland Park Community Center is not part of Highland Park as the name would suggest. It is part of Hillcrest Park (not to be confused with Hillcrest Knoll Park). It is named for the Highland Park neighborhood in St Paul and the Highland Park Library, with which it shares space.
Families will find that this expanded community center offers an outdoor playground and an expanded indoor children’s area, a story time room and a reading garden and public art.

Play Area Improvements
Updates to the play area were finalized in November of 2018 and the playground was reopened. The new play equipment consts of a small climbing structure and a sand floor. Additional updates were begun in the late fall of 2019 and portions of the playground may be closed during construction.
