Summer Fun at Scheid Park
In summer, families will enjoy the playground equipment, which was completely overhauled in the spring of 2019. The new equipment offers more climbing and balancing opportunities for children. The design is considered “nature-based,” which might be a stretch, but you can decide for yourself.
Scheid Park also offers plenty of space for a variety of sports, including a basketball court, two lighted tennis courts, softball and baseball fields, and a soccer field in the fall. Families can also find game squares – like hopscotch.
Scheid is the home of Golden Valley’s Water Days, when the public is invited to play water-related games including three water slides, as well as music, puppets and refreshments. The park also participates in the puppet wagon, along with several other Golden Valley parks.
Winter Fun at Scheid Park
During the winter months, this park’s hilly terrain is ideal for sledding. However, sledding is only allowed in designated areas. The outdoor skating rink is maintained daily on weekdays. There is a supervised warming shelter at this location.
