The Mill City Farmers Market has a mission of inspiring and nurturing a healthy community by building a local, sustainable, and organic food economy in a vibrant, educational marketplace. For families, that means its a great way to spend your Saturday mornings picking out healthy foods that you can than take home and prepare together.
Year-round seasons at Mill City Farmers Market
Summer Market
In the summer, the outdoor market is located between the Guthrie Theatre and Mill City Museum and spans the block between South Second Street and West River Parkway. It’s an easy walk to the Stone Arch Bridge. During the summer your dog is welcome in some portions of the Market, but the Mill City operators request that dog owners be aware of their dogs at all times, especially around children.
Winter Market
In the winter, the market runs indoors at the Mill City Museum a couple times a month on select Saturdays from 1oam-1pm.
Family fun at the Mill City Farmer’s Market
Families are invited to participate in kids’ activities about food, nutrition, and farming. On first Saturdays, the Guthrie Theatre has historically presented a storytelling hour. On a weekly basis, families can typically find free cooking demonstrations and live music.
The Power of Produce Club
The Power Of Produce (“PoP”) Club is a free program that was created to empower kids to make healthy food choices and introduce them to where their food comes from. Kids between the ages of 3-12 can join the club anytime. After that, they can sample a seasonal produce at the information booth, whenever you visit, summer or winter. They will also receive a PoP punch card and weekly $2 market token to spend on produce.
