Located on the south central border of Brooklyn Park, Brookdale Park is one its largest community parks. Family friendly amenities include a playground, a trail system, space for picnicking, a basketball court, and a recreation building. In the winter, the city maintains outdoor skating and hockey rinks and there is good a sledding hill.

Ice Skating

Brooklyn Park maintains outdoor skating and hockey rinks at this park. During winter break, it also opens a warming house. Rinks are closed if the weather is dangerously cold or too warm to maintain ice.

Sledding

Brookdale is one of two parks that the City of Brooklyn Park recommends for sledding.

Birthday Parties at Brookdale Park

This park has a picnic shelter available to rent for private events, like birthday parties. It has a capacity of 50 people and can be reserved beginning in January of the same calendar year.

Brookdale Park Trail System

The park has over two miles of trails that connect to Brooklyn Middle School & Park Center High School and Palmer Lake Nature Area. Its trails also link to Three Rivers Park District’s Shingle Creek Regional Trail.

Taking the Family Dog to Brookdale Park

Brookdale is one of two dog parks in Brooklyn Park so dogs can exercise alongside their people and play with other dogs. The off-leash dog area is open year-round during regular park hours. In September, Brookdale hosts the annual Bark Park Expo and Wiggle Butt 5K.
