TWIN CITIES WEST METRO APPLE ORCHARDS

Apple Jack Orchards, Delano
Open: Aug. 15-Oct., 2016
Hours: August, Mon-Sat 10am-5pm; Sept-Oct, daily 10am-6pm
Cost: Free admission, fees for additional activities
Picking: PYO is not available this year, pre-picked apples only

Apple Tree-O, Delano
Open/Hours: Fall weekends, 11am-5pm
Cost: Free admission
Picking: PYO apples

Deardorff Orchards & Vineyard, Waconia
Open: Aug. 27-Oct. 31, 2016
Hours: Orchard, Tues-Sun, 10am-6pm & Winery Tasting Room, Winery hours.  Friday 12-6, Saturday 11-6, Sunday 12-6
Cost: Free admission, free family activities
Picking & details: Take a tractor wagon ride out to pick-your-own apples, let the kids burn off energy in their own place space with hay bales and farm animals, stock up on goodies in the Apple Barn, and stop in at the Parley Lake Winery Tasting Room! Food is available onsite for purchase. Come out for Apple Pickin’ Days Aug. 27-28, 2016, for live music, scarecrow-making and free charcoal portraits.

Minnetonka Orchards, Minnetrista
Open: Aug. 20-Oct., 2016
Hours: Daily, 10am-7pm
Cost: $7/pp weekend admission fee, includes orchard activities
Picking & details: Minnetonka Orchards has grown into a beautiful fall destination. Come out for a day of pick-your-own apples, hayrides (included with weekend admission, $3/weekdays), train rides for the kids, corn crib slides, Owen’s Barnyard and face painting. Whatever you do, our kids would tell you not to miss the apple donuts!

Emma Krumbee’s Orchard & Farm, Belle Plaine
Open: Mid-August through Oct., 2016

Cost: Admission to the Scarecrow Festival is $5.50/pp+tax

fischersFisher’s Croix Farm Orchard, Hastings
Open: Sept.-Nov., 2016
Hours: Tues-Sun, 9:30am-5pm
Cost: Free admission, fees for additional activities
Picking & details: Enjoy the fall season at this beautiful orchard on the St. Croix River. Pick-your-own apples and pumpkins and, for more family fun, take a tractor pulled wagon ride to the corn maze (weekends only) mid-September to October. Straw Mountain and the Apple Express are popular with kids and all ages will enjoy a visit to the barnyard. The Food Wagon is open on weekends, from late September through late October. Catch the Annual Apple Festival with fun family activities running the first two weekends of October.

Sponsel’s Minnesota Harvest, Jordan

whistling well farmWhistling Well Farm, Hastings
Open: Sept. 3-Oct., 2016
Hours: Daily, 9am-6pm
Cost: Free admission and limited children’s activities
Picking & details: Stop by the farm and pick up some apples, visit with the goats and chickens, and make a wish at the whistling well with all donations going to local charities. The orchard’s Apple Festival runs the first three weekends in October.
