Pleasant Valley Orchard, Shafer
Less than 5 miles from Franconia Sculpture Park, Pleasant Valley Orchard is located near Taylors Falls, Minnesota, overlooking the beautiful St. Croix Valley. A visit to the orchard can be part of a lovely fall daytrip. In fact, Anne lists it among her Top 10 Things To Do In Taylors Falls with Kids. In November and December, the orchard offers barn sales. In the spring, families can pick strawberries.

Fall Fun
During the harvest season, the orchard offers to following fun activities:
- Nature Trail
- Farm Animals
- Hay Pile
- Picnic Area
- Caramel apples, scones and turnovers, cookies and apples in the shop
- Food Trailer (weekends)
- Hayrides (weekends to the pumpkin patch and/or around the orchard)
- Live Music on Saturday and Sunday afternoons between 1:00 pm to 4 pm.
Pleasant Valley Pumpkin Patch
The pumpkin patch is open daily during pumpkin season from 10am-6pm. Admission is free, but hayrides are extra. Pick your own is only available on weekends. Look for special Halloween activities leading up to the end of October.
Apple Picking at Pleasant Valley Orchard
Apple season runs from Labor Day weekend through October with daily hours from 10am-6pm. Admission is free. If you want to pick your own apples go on a weekend. Free activities and - kinda fun and unique for an orchard - an annual 12 Days of Halloween event. Twelve Days of Halloween.
The orchard's 12 Days of Halloween festival runs from October 20th through October 31st, and includes special offers. Kids can win a prize when they complete an orchard scavenger hunt.
