Donahue South Park is a small neighborhood park in Maple Grove. Family-friendly amenities include a small playground and a baseball field and some green space to run or play yard games. It is a half-mile away and on the opposite side of Bass Lake Road from the larger Donahue North Park. It is currently in need of drainage landscaping before the City of Maple Grove can begin to renovate or upgrade the existing features. Maple Grove is in the early stages of updates to this park. As of summer 2020, it is working with an engineering firm to create more effective drainage and to review options for site layout and future amenities. These early steps will support future park improvements with a goal to restore the park to a functioning neighborhood gathering and recreation place. In the coming months, the city will finalize a concept plan and release more details to neighborhood residents. Keep up-to-date at the engineering project page.
