Three Rivers Park District is planning a new regional trail in western Hennepin County, the Diamond Lake Regional Trail. This multi-purpose paved path will be approximately 20 miles long and connect the cities of Dayton, Rogers, Corcoran, Medina, Long Lake, Orono and Wayzata. Along the route, it will connect existing natural areas, parks and other trails. In spring of 2022, Three Rivers approved the draft master plan for the project and it is available for public comment. The trail will be a 10-foot-wide paved trail that will allow multiple uses – like biking, skating, running, walking/hiking and dog walking. The park system has created a map to show the various potential trail routes. They would like to hear from the public regarding pros and cons of each route so they can narrow the plan down to the final choice. If you have feedback, leave a comment on the trail’s master plan page. Give Your Feedback on the New Diamond Lake Regional Trail
