In honor of this crummy spring Tuesday (don’t you relish in snow on April 29?), I thought I’d share a fun place to escape the weather with stir-crazy toddlers. SkyZone Indoor Trampoline Park – with two metro locations – hosts a special jump time twice a week just for kids five and under (willing caregivers as well). If you’re not familiar with SkyZone, it’s a space made up of wall-to-wall trampolines. In fact, trampolines extend right up the walls themselves! There’s even a foam pit the kids can launch themselves into. The place is fantastic for all ages and – a total bonus for us adults – it’s a super fun workout bouncing around after the kids.
There’s a nice price break for jumping during Toddler Time at SkyZone, too. Kids and their caregivers bounce for $4 per hour plus a $2 fee for required SkySocks, yours to keep and re-use. (For reference: An hour’s worth of jumping during regular Open Jump hours will cost you $12 plus the sock fee!)
I’m somewhat disappointed that a few changes have been made to Toddler Time at SkyZone since we visited last year. Previously, the $4 admission price was good for a full two hours – 9:30 to 11:30am. Toddler Time has since been shortened by a half hour and now jumpers are charged by the hour (so, if you’re there the full time is that last half hour pro-rated? I’ll have to do some research for ya.) Also, we were free to jump in our socks last year. The requirement of SkySocks (an extra $2 per person) is likely a safety measure, but it aids in significantly increasing the cost of jumping this year as compared to last.
Even with the price hike, given this dreary spring, I’d rather have my kiddos bouncing off SkyZone’s walls Tuesday morning than bouncing off my own!
