A trip to the Lake Superior Railroad Museum is a must for any train-lover in your life and makes a snug way to spend a winter day in Duluth. Climb up, around and through a number of historic (previously) rolling stock housed within the stately and historic Duluth Depot.

Trains & Toddlers

Second Monday of the month, Trains & Toddlers offers a special story time and toddler-centric craft from 10-11:30am. There’s plenty of time to explore the museum’s rolling stock of locomotives and equipment. As an incentive, adults enjoy $7 admission during this event and kids (3-13) are admitted for just $4.

North Shore Scenic Railroad

Now boarding for scenic trips on the North Shore Scenic Railroad! Climb aboard your zippy zephyr right inside the Duluth Depot and enjoy a 75-minute train trip through downtown Duluth and along the shore of Lake Superior. Coach seats are around $22/adults & $11/ages 3-13, First Class seats are $44.

Occasionally, special excursion trains are scheduled on the Duluth Zephyr between May and October – including the charming Christmas City Express, pizza and dinner trains, fall color tours and all-day excursions as far as Two Harbors. We track kid-friendly events on our Duluth Family Fun Calendar.

Tickets to the Lake Superior Railroad Museum include admission to the St Louis County Historical Society Museum and the Duluth Art Institute, all housed in the stately Duluth Depot.
