Located near the Como Avenue and Marion Street intersection, the Frogtown Community Center officially opened in September of 2019 after breaking ground in July of 2018. The new sustainably-built building is more than three times larger than the former Scheffer Recreation Center and includes community rooms, a kitchen, after-school space, a fitness room, and a full-size gym. It features large windows to allow light in, include energy and water efficient utilities and measures to improve bird safety despite the large windows.
Outside, family-friendly amenities include an artificial turf football/soccer field, a basketball court, a volleyball court, a Kato court, and a playground. This park has sports fields and indoor space available for rental.
Free Summer Meals at Frogtown Community Center
This community center typically participates in the Free Summer Meals program four youth. Children age 18 and under can receive free meals during scheduled times during the summer school break.
