TWIN CITIES 2024 NATURE & OUTDOOR ADVENTURE SUMMER CAMPS
If you have a kid who is begging to get outdoors in the summer, an outdoor adventure camp may be just the thing for them. They will learn new skills and have plenty of outdoor recreation and nature exploration time. Wilderness Adventures offers these 5 Benefits of an Outdoor Education. MINNEAPOLIS & ST PAUL SUMMER CAMPS
Gopher Adventures
University of Minnesota Youth Programs, 123 Harvard Street SE, Minneapolis, MN 55455
Kids ages 6-12 will love fun and active days with small, age-appropriate groups. Sessions run weekly during June, July, and August, 2024. $319-$359 per week.Â
Loppet Foundation Adventure CampÂ
The Trailhead, 1221 Theodore Wirth Pkwy, Minneapolis, MN 55422
Adventure Camp, filled with outdoor activities like mountain biking and archery, is held at Theodore Wirth Park. Sessions run Mon-Fri, 9am-4pm for ages 9-13. June 17 – August 16, 2024. $340/week.Â
Minneapolis Parks Summer Camps
Minneapolis parks and recreation centers burst with exciting summer camp opportunities for kids at a reasonable price. Far too many to list here individually but there are several nature-based camps planned for locations such as:

The Raptor Center

Summer raptor camps are run by the University of Minnesota’s Rec & Wellness Camps and also include activities like swimming & crafts. A number of partnership camps that offer programming with birds from the Raptor Center can also be found through RECWELL. Ages 6-15. Summer sessions run June 17-August 2, 2024. $449 (last year’s cost).Â
Como Park Zoo & ConservatoryÂ

Como Zoo summer camps are back in 2024 for kids in Pre-K through 6th Grade. $200-$375 with extended care options available. June 10-August 30, 2024.
Wilderness Awakening Day Camps

Wilderness Awakening Day Camps offer children nature immersion within our Twin Cities. Held at Crosby Farm and Theo Wirth Park, these camps emphasize nature connection, free play and exploration. With journals, art supplies, and hammocks for quiet connection moments. Thea camps are designed for children between 6-10. Sessions run weekly during June-August, 2024. $385/week

Featuring summer camps located in Coon Rapids, Fridley, Lino Lakes, Stacy, Wyoming & Zimmerman, Minnesota.
Anoka County Parks

Day camp sessions are 4 days each. Age groups range from 4-14 and there is also a grown-up & me camp. Sessions run June 17-August 22, 2024. $95-$190.Â
Camp Ajawah

Separate boys and girls sessions two-week sleep away camps encouraging creativity and activity. Themes: Arts, Active, Sports, Adventure, Nature and Outdoors. For youth ages 8-15. 2024 Girls’ Weeks June 16-July 12, Boys’ Weeks July 14-August 9. $650.
Camp Elk River and Camp Lakamaga

Girl Scout camp for grades 1-12. Camp length: 1-13 days; both day and sleep-away camps available. Camps range from $78/day camps to $2000+/thirteen day wilderness excursions. Financial assistance available. Sessions run June -August. Registration beings Feb. 6, 2024.
Camp Tamahay

Sleepaway Outdoor Camp is just for girls for ages 7-16. Camp length: Choose from 2 weeks or 4 weeks. Sessions run June 17-29, 2024 and July 1- 13, 2024 for 2 week sessions and June 17-July 13, 2024 for 4 weeks. Camp costs begin at $1950 for 2 weeks and $3500 for 4 weeks.Â
Springbrook Nature CenterÂ

Springbrook Nature Camps are led by a naturalist and run weekly sessions for ages 4-14. Summer camp sessions run June 4 – August 22, 2024. $75-$200/week. Registration begins February 21, 2024.
TWIN CITIES SUMMER CAMPS – SOUTH METRO
Featuring summer camps located in Apple Valley, Bloomington, Cottage Grove, Eagan, Eden Prairie, Farmington, Hastings, Henderson & West St Paul, Minnesota.
Base Camp (Northern Star Scouting)

Camp Northern Star offers a lineup of summer camps with time spent at Base Camp including a Discovery Adventure Camp for kids entering grades 6-8. Camp offers 7 five-day sessions running June 17-August 9, 2024. $475/session.
MORE SUMMER OPTIONS AT BASE CAMP:Â Discovery Day Camp (K-grade 6) & Camp Invention (STEM based, grades K-6). High energy activities are offered 9am-4pm M-F.Â
Camp Kota
Outdoor skills camp through Bloomington Parks for kids entering grades 2-7. Four weekly sessions: July 8-August 2, 2024. $300-$365/session.
Carpenter St Croix Valley Nature Center

Kids will get a chance to craft, play, and explore the trails. Single half-day camps (ages 6-11), week-long day camps (ages 5-11) and outdoor skills & canoe camps for tweens and teens. There are also mini fishing camps held June 19, June 26, and July 24. You’ll want to act quickly as these some camps are close to capacity. Most camps offered June & July with teen canoe camps in August. $40-$395 (2024 registration open).

Minnesota Zoo

Wood Lake Nature CenterÂ
