Wolfe Park is located between Excelsior & Grand in Saint Louis Park and features a pavilion that holds year-round events. Families can enjoy a playground, walking trail, a fishing pond and picnic shelters. It also has a variety of sports courts. The Veterans’ Memorial Amphitheater is terraced into the hill on the south side of the park and seats 200. Wolfe Park Pavilion, playground area and Veterans Amphitheater all provide free Wi-Fi to park visitors.

Wolfe Park Playground

The play structure at this park was updated in 2016. As part of this update, the city incorporated a Biba Smart Playground. With this system, patrons can download a free app that encourages play. Parents use the app on their phone to create an interactive playground experience for their kids.

New Wolfe Park Pickleball Courts

During the summer of 2019, a grass space behind the sand volleyball court was constructed into five new pickleball courts. The pickleball courts, like Tennis and Volleyball courts, are available to rent.

Summer Concerts & Events at Wolfe Park Amphitheater

Outdoor Concerts are scheduled throughout the summer months. Bring a blanket or chairs and a picnic. Find concerts in the Family Fun Calendar, in the concert calendar linked below or check the park’s official website.

Fishing Wolfe Lake With Kids

Minnesota DNR’s Fishing in the Neighborhood (FIN) pond because it is considered an ideal lake to introduce the sport of fishing and offers a variety of fish species. The program was designed to help encourage a new generation of fishing enthusiasts under the belief that fishing promotes good stewardship and instills environmental values. You may find Bluegill, Black Crappie, Largemouth Bass, Northern Pike or Yellow Perch when fishing this lake.

Birthday Parties at Wolfe Park

Wolfe Park Building Rentals

The park offers several rental opportunities for private events, like birthday parties. The Veterans’ Memorial Amphitheater can be rented alone or in combination with the Wolfe Park building. Rental fees depend on time of date, rental length and residential status. The Amphitheater has a capacity of 300 people and the park building can hold up to 30 people. The park building is available year round and has a fireplace and air-conditioning.

Wolfe Park Pavilion Rental

There are also two picnic shelters available for smaller parties. The Main Shelter holds up to 100 people and the East Shelter can hold 35 people.  These are also priced according to residential status and require a refundable damage deposit.  The city will not reserve shelters on the three major summer holidays — Memorial Day, Independence Day or Labor Day.
