South Valley Park is one half of a large, rolling green space in Inver Grove Heights bisected by 7th St E. The southern section of the park is connected to North Valley Park via a path underneath the busy street. As with all Inver Grove Heights parks, this one is trim and well-maintained.

Things to do at South Valley Park

This neighborhood park is a hub for community entertainment in Inver Grove Heights. Amenities include playground equipment, a picnic shelter, grills and a softball field. A paved bike trail runs through the park. During the summer months, the park hosts Terrific Tuesdays with live kids entertainment at 10:30am. Please check the city’s website for the schedule.

Inver Grove Heights Disc Golf Course

Both South & North Valley Park share the 18-hole Inver Grove Heights Disc Golf Course. May to September a day pass ($5) is required to play. October through April the course is free. Find more disc golf courses in the Twin Cities.

Winter in South Valley Park

This park is one of five parks in Inver Grove Heights with an outdoor ice skating rink and the only one to boast a designated sledding hill. The hill is long, sloping and gentle. The city maintains its ice skating rinks from mid-December through mid-February, weather and ice conditions permitting. There is no warming house or attendant onsite.

Park notes: If you have younger children along on a disc golf outing, the southern portion of the park is more kid-friendly. It includes playground equipment, a covered shelter for a picnic and restrooms.
