Shakopee Memorial Park has family-friendly amenities that include a large playground, space to picnic with grills and restrooms, and trails. This park is Shakopee’s largest park with 137 acres that includes a Veterans Memorial and Native American burial mounds and is home to the Shakopee Chamber and Visitor’s Bureau. There is also a large duck pond. In 2021, the city removed and replaced the pedestrian bridge between Memorial Park and Minnesota Valley State Trail to avoid culturally sensitive areas. After five years of closure due to structural concerns, the new bridge reopened in the late summer of 2021.
