Running Park is a 10 acre park in Bloomington on East Old Shakopee Road. Family friendly amenities include a playground, softball and space for picnics in the summer and ice rinks in the winter months. The hilly terrain also makes good sledding. This park also has off-street parking. The City of Bloomington maintains two hockey rinks and a general rink at this location. This is one of four parks in Bloomington that is open and staffed daily. The rinks are lit after dark. Open hours are 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. on weekdays; Noon to 9 p.m. on Saturdays and school release days; and 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Sundays. Special hours are noon to 4 p.m. on Christmas Eve (12/24) and New Years Eve (12/31). The playground equipment at this location was replaced in 2017, combining the two playgrounds into one. Picnic tables and park benches were installed and the bituminous trail modified.Related Articles:
