Brackett Field Park (a/k/a The Rocket Park) features a 35-foot Rocket sculpture. Other family-friendly amenities include a playground and tot lot, a wading pool, space for picnicking, and sports courts and fields. This park also has a little free library, so bring along some books to trade-in. The pool is open from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day from 10:00 am to 9:00 pm daily. Wading pools have no lifeguards on duty. Find our full list Minneapolis Wading Pools here. Bracket pool closed indefinitely in June of 2021. It may re-open during the season, but we don’t have any details to share yet. One of the six current MPRB skate parks is located at Brackett. However, it has an asphalt base which is not as smooth as other parks with concrete. The park has six features for the more advanced skaters. As part of its 20-year roadmap to support the skateboard community, MPRB plans to upgrade and overhaul all the skate parks in the coming years. Expansion has been approved in South Service Area Master Plan, but it is currently unfunded, the park would like additional community input and it won’t be done until the adjacent tennis court is no longer useful.Brackett Field Park Wading Pool
