This is an article about our favorite treat shops and chocolate shops that you should go to if you or your kids need a candy fix (don’t let your kids catch you while you’re looking at this, or you might be deciding sooner than you would have wanted to!). These are especially good if you want to get a Valentine’s Day present for somebody special, or just a present in general! So, without further ado, I present these Twin Cities candy stores and treat shops to you!

Twin Cities Candy Stores
1. Minnesota’s Largest Candy Store | Jordan
Open: Daily, June-November, 9am-6pm
My personal favorite, and settled in Jordan, MN, Minnesota’s Largest Candy Store has a huge soda selection, including more than 150 kinds of root beer, tons and tons of candy, and fresh baked apple pies. There is a gigantic gumball machine, and these gumballs are filled with Nerds! If you bacon lovers are looking for something, then go here, because there is a section entirely devoted to bacon stuff (I thought I saw even a bacon pie…). Prices range from a quarter up, but there are a few pricey items. Take note, this candy store only accepts cash, so come prepared.
2. Regina’s Fine Candies | St Paul
Open: Mon-Fri: 9am-6pm, Sat: 10am-5pm, Sun: closed
This longtime candy store features specialties like holiday packages, wedding and business treats. Regina’s also crafts homemade goodies that have gotten many customers into the shop – brittles like peanut and coconut, and chocolate figurines and caramels. Near Halloween, the shop offers tours for families and, having gone myself, I can assure you they are delicious fun.
3. CandyLand | Minneapolis, St Paul & Stillwater
Open: Mon-Sat: 8:30am-10pm, Sun: 10am-9pm
A great place to go if you haven’t met King Kandy yet in the board game! This store is famous for its popcorn, like caramel corn and cheese popcorn and their yummy Chicago Mix. Popcorn tins, ranging from a half-gallon to 6-and-a-half gallon sizes, are great for gifts. CandyLand also carries salt water taffy, jawbreakers, licorice, nut tins and t-shirts! Read more about Gianna’s visit here.
4. Legacy Chocolates | St Paul
Open: Mon-Fri: 6:30 am-4:30 pm, Sat: 8 am-12pm, Sun: closed
Located in the historic Pioneer Endicott building in downtown St Paul, Legacy Chocolates has many things to offer. Come to this cozy cafe to try chocolate done a dozen ways, ice cream, or perhaps a sip of some delicious coffee. This café also includes a bakery, with muffins and small cakes all made from scratch. You can also send gifts to friends or family. Although this isn’t a candy store, it should be on your radar.
5. Tremblay’s Sweet Shop | Stillwater
Open: Sun-Thurs: 10am-8pm, Fri-Sat: 10am-9pm
This store features truffles, caramels, jelly beans, and my favorite, salt water taffy! Established in 1963, this store is stocked with the usual candy, such as chocolate and licorice, but also some other candy, such as fudge balls, brittle, and almond bark. For the kids who don’t tolerate sugar, this shop features sugar-free chocolates and candies.
6. Grandpa Joe’s Candy Shop | Bloomington, Spring Lake Park & Stillwater
7. Truffles & Tortes | Anoka
8. Dancing Bear Chocolates | North Minneapolis
Open: Thurs-Sat 10 am-5pm, Sun 8:30 am-5pm
Owned and operated by Joe Skifter and Steven Howard, this specialty chocolate shop in North Minneapolis features over 250 items including key-lime pie, crostatas, crème brûlée, carrot cake, almond cloud cookies-wheat free, gelato/ice cream, handcrafted chocolate bars, and artisan chocolate truffles.

I loved this roundup of chocolate and candy shops in the Twin Cities! It’s great to see such a variety of options for satisfying that sweet tooth. Can’t wait to visit some of these places with my family this weekend! Any recommendations on must-try treats?
I’d go for anything dark chocolate myself, but that’s such a personal choice and different for each of these shops. Since we are moving into Outdoor Movie season in the next few weeks, I’m thinking of starting to stock up on popcorn and movie candy.
Wish I’d seen this before today. This would have been perfect for Easter baskets! I’ve been to a few of these shops, but I can’t wait to try the ones I haven’t visited yet. Thanks for sharing such a delicious resource.

Thank you, Emma. I’m glad you found this article useful. However, Andy only reviewed shops with a physical location to visit in the Twin Cities. Ontario is a bit too far for the average child to convince his parents to drive him.
