Ice rink update in the Southeast Metro

The cold is finally starting to creep into the Twin Cities – creating conditions that are friendly to flooding local ice rinks. If your community is not yet ready, there are a couple refrigerated options in the Southeast Metro: 

  • Winter SKOLstice ice rink at Viking Lakes – You can ice skate for free on the SKOLstice Market Rink (5-10pm Sat & until 9pm on Sun, BYO skates or rent a pair for $5). Ice is  scheduled to be open January 6 & 7, 2024. Please check the website to confirm as status may change with the weather. 2685 Vikings Cir, Eagan, MN 55121.
  • M Health Fairview Sports Center Outdoor Rink – Skate rental is available for $6 if need be in the Sports Center. Open 4-9:30pm on weekends. 4125 Radio Drive, Woodbury MN 55129.

Snow tubing update in the Southeast Metro

The two major snow tubing venues in the Twin Cities Southeast Metro are currently busy at work trying to manufacture the stuff Mother Nature hasn’t yet blessed us with much of.

  • BUCK HILL, Burnsville: The tubing lanes are currently open and were discounted to $18/2 hrs when we last checked for winter break hours. There is an onsite restaurant for your warm-up and snack-craving needs.
  • TRAPP FARM PARK, Eagan: As of this publish date, the tubing hill remains closed, but it appears tickets are available starting January 13. Just $5/pp, must purchase online.
