Winter festivals this weekend in the Twin Cities Northwest Metro

If you’re keen on an outdoor celebration of all things chilled, we recommend a few happenings in communities north of Minneapolis & St Paul this weekend:

Columbia Heights SnowBLAST 2023

Huset Park, 40TH Ave, Columbia Heights, MN 55421
Lots of free activities: mini pony rides, free popcorn & smores and hot beverages. The traditional winter activities like skating and sledding will not be happening. February 3, 2024, 4-7pm. FREE.

Crystal Winterlude

Valley Place Park, 6822 32nd Ave N, Crystal, MN 55427
Ice bocce, anyone? And a sledding contest, kicksledding and kits to build snow people?
10am-1pm. CANCELLED.

Maple Grove Wonders of Winter

Maple Grove Central Park, 2000 Central Park Way, Maple Grove, MN 55369
We have no idea what “Crokicurl” is, but it’s happening at the festival along with skating on the loop in Central Park and horse-drawn wagon rides. February 3, 2024, 1-4pm. FREE.

More Twin Cities-area community winter festivals this weekend:

  • APPLE VALLEY: Mid-Winter Fest – Frozen kite flying, horse-drawn wagon rides and fireworks. 3-7:30pm.
  • BLOOMINGTON: Pond Dakota Winter History Festival – Play frontier games, explore outdoors and take a guided tour of the historic house. 10am-3pm.
  • EDEN PRAIRIE: Staring Lake Winter Blast – Learn about winter with the Outdoor Center, skate to music on ice (if ice) and try out winter rec. 12-4:30pm.
  • MINNETONKA: Kids Fest – Horse-drawn trolley rides, face painting and more weather-dependent activities. Sunday, February 4, 2024, 11am-2:30pm.

Winter Snow Days at Eidem Farm

Borrow snowshoes or a kicksled to trek around the historic property, or simply play in the snow. However, the weather forecast may dictate otherwise so stay tuned. February 3, 2024, FREE, 12-3pm. FREE. UPDATE: There is, of course, no snow, but come on out to explore the farm!

Free Family Fun Day at Mississippi Gateway Regional Park
