Rosebrook Park pops up in an unexpected corner of Roseville, Minnesota. It’s well hidden from the throngs of shoppers flocking to Rosedale Mall and unless you slow down when cruising by on busy Snelling Avenue, you’ll blink and miss it. I did myself for years. The park is not particularly easy to access, either, but we encourage a try — you’ll be delighted by a quiet play space with a free wading pool, play equipment for a range of ages and an activity building.

Rosebrook Park wading pool
It’s uncommon to find a free wading pool outside of the abundance found in Minneapolis. Rosebrook’s pool is a simple, shallow box style but is perfectly welcome on a hot summer day. Come splash and wade while you can, however, because according to the city’s park page, the pool is due to be replaced (possibly with a splash pad) in the next few years. There are restrooms with changing space nearby, a safety fence around the water, and scattered picnic tables for lunch. The wading pool is open Memorial Day through Labor Day, Monday: 1pm-9pm and Tuesday-Sunday: 10am-9pm.
Playground at Rosebrook ParkÂ
Again, the park page warns that the playground equipment at Rosebrook Park is due for an upgrade. The climbing, sliding and swinging apparatus are what you’d expect, laid out on a woodchip surface. Younger kids will get excited about one of those multi-level structures that hauls sand up and pours it down through chutes. (How else do I really describe those things?). There are a few swings, including one for toddlers.
Other park amenities include pristine tennis courts, mega grassy space with soccer nets and the park building.
