Stewart Park in Minneapolis’s Phillips neighborhood has family-friendly amenities that include a playground with a separate tot lot (that were fully updated and replaced in 2025), a wading pool, a Little Free Library and sports courts and fields. The recreation center has restroom facilities and a drinking fountain available during its open hours.

Stewart Park Wading Pool

This park shares space Andersen United Community School. Therefore, the pool will opens after school releases for the summer and closes the weekend before school resumes. Minneapolis wading pools are not guarded.

Stewart Park Recreation Center

It has a Community Kitchen, a Computer Lab, a Craft Room, a Gymnasium, a Meeting Room and a Multipurpose Room available for public use. Call or drop by the rec center for more information. 2025 updates and renovations to the Rec Center include the addition of air conditioning.

Birthday Parties in the Rec Center

Families can rent park spaces for private events, like birthday parties. Individuals and groups are encouraged to use the centers and park spaces for self-directed activities. There are different permit requirements and special use fees, depending on the use.
