Less than 5 miles from Franconia Sculpture Park, Pleasant Valley Orchard is located near Taylors Falls, Minnesota, overlooking the beautiful St. Croix Valley. A visit to the orchard can be part of a lovely fall day trip. In fact, Anne lists it among her Top 10 Things To Do In Taylors Falls with Kids. In November and December, the orchard offers barn sales. In the summertime, families can pick delicious strawberries.

Fall fun at Pleasant Valley Orchard
During the harvest season, the orchard offers a lineup of casual but fun activities: hayrides (for a small fee) start weekends in October. Pick your own apples and pumpkins are also offered on weekends, or you can shop produce and other treats in their market barn. Wander the nature trail, meet a few farm animals and take in live music most weekend afternoons during harvest season.

Apple season runs from Labor Day weekend through October; typically picking is permitted on weekends without a cover admission charge. The pumpkin patch is open daily during pumpkin season from 10am-6pm. Again, admission is free, but hayrides are extra. Pick-your-own is only available on weekends. Look for special Halloween activities leading up to the end of October.
