McKenna Park is one of Columbia Heights’ most popular park destinations. In the summer months, this is likely due to the free wading pool, perfect for young ones who are not yet swimmers but love to splash. Also during the summer, keep an eye out for the recreation department’s Puppet Wagon. In the wintertime, the park furnishes an ice skating rink, a hockey rink and a sledding hill.
