Consortium Carissimi is a wonderful non-profit organization in the Twin Cities intent on bringing pre-baroque and early baroque music into the modern world.
Named for famous baroque composer, Giacomo Carissimi, Consortium Carissimi is a Minnesota-based performing ensemble with a mission to connect modern audiences with long-forgotten Italian baroque music of the 16th and 17th centuries. It performs live concerts, offers master classes, and releases recordings and publications to share this music. Children’s tickets are always free. However, adult tickets are still priced high enough that it will still be a special family outing.

The Manuscript Library of Consortium Carissimi
Consortium Carissimi keeps a library of music with over 200 transcripts of works. Much of the libraries music has not been heard since it was first created hundreds of years ago. Through transcriptions and performance of these archives, this lost music is brought to a new generation. This is the only organization of its kind in the U.S.
