Bridgeview Park is a small park in Eagan, located just south of Twin Cities Premium Outlets.  It could be a good park to combine with a shopping trip if you are bringing along kids who need an outlet for their energy. The City of Eagan owns and operates the parking garage across the street, which is also used by the mall.

Ideas for family fun at Bridgeview Park

  • Play ping pong! This park has a permanent built-in concrete ping pong table. Plan ahead — unless you always carry ping pong paddles and balls in your car! Find the official rules of ping pong here.
  • Organize a family chess (or checkers) tournament. Again, you’ll need to plan ahead and bring your own set, but the park has a chess board table.
  • Contemplate on the art bench. How does this bench represent the unique landscape of this park? Does it give you a sense of hope?
  • Play a game of Around the World on the basketball half-court. You can find game rules and instructions here.
  • Let the kids run around the playground.
  • Try a game of pickle ball. Since pickleball paddles look like big ping pong paddles maybe you can use the same paddle for both sports? Learn how to play here.
  • Pack a picnic. If the sun shelter is reserved, you can spread a blanket on the lawn.
  • Take a walk along the park’s paths.

Bridgeview Park Public Art

This park is home to one of Eagan’s art benches commissioned in 2017. Eagan asked each artist to create a bench that represented the unique space it would occupy.  This park houses Bridge Bench by Greg Mueller.  The artist sees sculpture as a poetic art form and transforms “fabricated and decommissioned materials” into “objects and spaces imbued with a sense of hope”.  Learn more about Artist Greg Mueller at his website. Stop and check out the butterfly mural at the parking garage, Reflected in Our Flight” by Greta McLain.

Birthday parties at Bridgeview Park

This park has a sun shelter, which provides overhead shelter from sun or rain, but is more casual than a pavilion. Families can reserve the shelter for private events, like birthday parties, for either a half day or full day. Find current prices and reserve the shelter here.
