Located 45 minutes southwest of the Twin Cities, Barten Pumpkins started in 1983 and has continued to grow over the years. It now offers more than 45 varieties of pumpkins, squash, and gourds. The also specialize in pre-made displays using broom corn, corn shocks, straw bales, pumpkins and other fall produce. Owners Roman and Fran Barten run the farm with the help of their 11 children and 35+ grandchildren.
Fall family activities at Barten Pumpkins
Activities vary, but have included free pictures by a caricature artist, free pony rides, free hay rides (weather permitting) stilts, pumpkin bowling, and music from an old fashioned mechanical organ with a bubble machine. Bring your camera and don’t forget to buy a pumpkin.
