Description
The Story Table will visit three Lake Street mural locations this fall, bringing storytellers and music to tell stories related to each mural. Each event features a different culture – Nordic, Mexican and Somali — sharing art, storytelling, music and food. Families are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs to participate in these Saturday morning sessions. Treats will be served. FREE. All Ages. Drop In.
Story Dates:
All sessions bein at 10am. Adults should bring their own seating. Children are welcome to sit on the Story Table carpet.
- August 29 – Storyteller Kari Tauring with Scandinavian Folk Musicians and Nordic Treats @ Ingebretsens
- September 19 – Storyteller Columba Reyes with Mexico Lindo Dance Group and Mexican Treats @ Plaza Centenario
- September 26 – Storyteller Mohamoud Mohamed with Somali Museum Dance Troupe and Somali Treats @ Sanag Restaurant
Make a Day of It:
- Midtown Farmers Market. Approximately a mile and half east on Lake Street from the mural story events. Midtown Farmers Market runs 9am-2pm on Saturdays.
- Midtown Global Market. About a 5 minute walk from the murals. Midtown Global Market usually host live music from noon to 2pm on Saturdays.
