Lavender Barnyard is a small family-owned lavender farm in Farmington, Minnesota, owned by Marty and Marie Schuhwerck. Despite Minnesota winters, the farm has a thriving crop of lavender plants on its 5 acres. The farm offers farm tours May through October and kid-friendly programming on Wednesdays in the summer. They also offer u-pick lavender when the lavender blooms are in season. During the summer families with kids ages 3-9 can explore nature and get outside on the farm with special family-friendly programming. Participants will have access to an activity bag to use on the farm and also receive take-home activities with simple ideas continue the adventures at home. Visitors are encouraged to pack a picnic lunch and blanket to spread on the lawn. Families can opt to purchase extra crafts each week for $5. Tickets are required and admission is $10/pp. Wednesdays, June through August, 12-3:00 pm.
