Lavender Barnyard is a small family-owned lavender farm in Farmington, Minnesota, owned by Marty and Marie Schuhwerck. Despite Minnesota winters, the farm has a thriving crop of lavender plants on its 5 acres. The farm offers farm tours May through October and kid-friendly programming on Wednesdays in the summer. They also offer u-pick lavender when the lavender blooms are in season.

Kidsploration Wednesdays

During the summer families with kids ages 3-9 can explore nature and get outside on the farm with special family-friendly programming. Participants will have access to an activity bag to use on the farm and also receive take-home activities with simple ideas continue the adventures at home. Visitors are encouraged to pack a picnic lunch and blanket to spread on the lawn.

Families can opt to purchase extra crafts each week for $5.  Tickets are required and admission is $10/pp. Wednesdays, June through August, 12-3:00 pm.

Parents who love the calming effects of lavender at bedtime may want to check out the farm’s stock, which includes aromatherapy mists, sachets, bath salts, body butter, limp balm, essential oil rollers and more.
