Canine Coach offers dog training classes in St. Paul, Minneapolis, St. Louis Park, and West St. Paul. We took a basic training class when our German Shepherd was an adolescent. I appreciated their non-judgmental instruction and family-friendly classes. Family members were welcome to come along for classes. It didn’t have to be just one person. I learned that dog training, like parenting, was more about learning proper techniques than about “training” a dog. Just like kids, dogs can go a bit stir-crazy in the colder months. Families can take advantage of Open Gym and other indoor winter activities for their dogs to exercise and socialize indoors. Dog Camp for Kids is a 4-day summer camp aimed at kids aged 8 to 13 and their dogs. (Although, if you don’t have a dog or your dog doesn’t meet the criteria, they have loaner dogs.) Kids as young as 5 can attend with a parent. During the camp, kids and their dogs get a chance to practice obedience and safety, and play fun activities together. While dogs rest in their crates, kids will also make dog related crafts and learn about dogs and dog-related careers from guest speakers. Find Up-to-date information in our Summer Camp Guide.
