The Bloomington Ice Garden (“BIG”) is a year-round indoor ice skating facility with three rinks, one of them Olympic-sized, and seating for up to 2500 people. When the City of Bloomington closes outdoor ice rinks due to uncooperative weather, they recommend Bloomington Ice Garden as an ice skating alternative. Details are below, please visit the website for updated hours and schedules as we cannot guarantee them. BIG also hosts skating lessons and classes. Register through the city’s recreation registration. Because the rink schedules are subject to change, it is best to visit the City Website to view the most current schedule or call 952-563-8841. The Cost of open skate is as follows: The nearly 50-year-old Bloomington ice center was renovated in 2019, including a new main entryway which doubles as a gathering space, updated locker rooms, and ADA viewing areas, as well as building enhancements such as automatic doors and better lighting. A second phase of renovations, including an elevator and equipment upgrades, may be approved and begin the future. SaveBIG Open Skating Schedule and Admission Prices
