Lise Lunge-Larsen is a self-proclaimed “troll expert and dragon slayer” who also happens to be a Minnesota-based author of children’s books. Ms. Larsen grew up in Norway, and you’ll see that reflected in her stories, but she now resides in Duluth. She has received book awards, including Minnesota Book Awards, USA Today’s “Best Illustrated Book,” ALA Notable awards, American Folklore Society awards, and the Horn Book Award.

Seven Ways to Trick a Troll

Lunge-Larsen’s most recent book was published in in 2017. This cute story tells about how a little girl can trick a mean old troll using the virtues of patience, kindness, courage, and quick thinking – all the opposite traits of trolls. The author takes this story and her insights into trolls from historical and international sources.
