Arguably, the Sunken Garden is the most classic of the balmy and bright rooms of the Marjorie McNeely Conservatory in Como Park. Certainly the most colorful, the garden swaps its blooms out multiple times per year, a seasonal delight for any age, particularly in the drudges of a Minnesota winter.

2026 Como Conservatory Fall Flower Show

From Como’s Sunken Garden website: Part 1 – Chrysanthemum colors will include deep purple and dark red with small amounts of lavender and white. The first fall flower show features ritual plants, medicinal herbs, and botanicals you might find in witches gardens.

Part 2 – Chrysanthemum colors include bright yellow, dark red, green, and white. The second flower show includes many forms of chrysanthemum flowers including bonsai mums surrounded by foliage accent plants such as ‘All Gold’ Japanese Hakone Grass, Japanese maples, and pines.

Note that the Sunken Garden closes briefly between the two parts of the Fall Flower Show.
