Spark-Y is a local nonprofit dedicated to empowering Minneapolis youth and using sustainable education.
Each class will focus on a different topic related to sustainable garden practices: Vermicomposting (September 21), Algae (September 28), and Mushrooms (October 5). Not only will each participant be able to be creative and play games, but they will get to use a microscope and get to know the subject matter up close and personal.
· September 21: Vermicomposting. Learn the anatomy of the worm and what in the world vermicomposting is. Imagine combining a dissected worm and a microscope.
· September 28: Algae. Play the game 5 Kingdoms (I don’t know what this is, but it sounds fun) and paint algae. Put that together with a microscope
· October 5: Mushrooms. Spy on the mushrooms under a microscope and other unique activities.
