The Goldstein Museum of Design is part of the University of Minnesota’s College of Design. It supports design teaching, research, and discovery through exhibitions, publications, programs, and partnerships. It has three gallery locations. All three galleries have free admission, however their hours and parking vary. University museums are subject to its holidays and schedule. We recommend calling ahead before visiting. Find current and upcoming exhibits here. Gallery 241 is located on the Second Floor McNeal Hall on the St. Paul Campus. It is opened Tuesday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and on weekends between 1:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. The HGA Gallery is open weekdays from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m and Saturdays from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.. It is located in Rapson Hall on the Minneapolis campus. Individuals or groups can make an appointment to view specific collections at the musem by contacting Assistant Curator Jean McElvain at 612.625.2737 or jmcelvai@umn.edu. Classes are also available at an hourly rate. Of course, you may also visit the museum for independent research for free. The research center is open Monday through Thursday from 9am-4pm.
